Baffle Plates

We created our baffle plates to increase the reliability of LWD, MWD, and telemetry tools by preventing foreign objects from obstructing pulse mechanisms. They also protect downhole tools from damage caused by dropped objects and protect bits and motors from obstructive material missed by conventional screens.

Protect your downhole assets with an economical and effective solution that offers an additional level of insurance and peace of mind. Baffles fit directly into the box end of the pipe joint or can be installed directly into the top of our 4R and5F6R DrillGuard float valves. The baffles also provide a stable landing zone for all drop-type instruments. The concave top of the baffle helps to center the tool for more accurate measurements.
